We've started into Autumn with a new 8 week course at the Evolve Wellness Centre in South Kensington. It's fun being mindful right slap-bang in the middle of the Science Museum and the Natural History museum.

August 2010

Earlier this year I took up kickboxing.

Of course, even when you see the world as a trap and posit a fundamental separation between liberation of self and transformation of society, you can still feel a compassionate impulse to help its suffering beings.

Do you wake up as I do, having forgotten what it is that hurts or where, until you move? There is a second of consciousness that is clean again. A second that is you, without memory or experience, the animal warm and waking into a brand new world.

I am de-militarizing my mind,
taking down the barbed-wire strand by strand.

There is or was barely a surface unmined
but gently i am digging in the soil to pull them up.

Following the cancellation of the Special Yoga Centre classes due to re-building work, I'm delighted to say we're starting a new eight week evening course at Evolve Wellness Centre in South Kensington.

There's a copy of a text I wrote for a performance piece in 2007 I've just added to the Library.

One of the books that I most enjoyed this summer was Christopher Germer's The Mindful Path to Self-Compassion.

Through November, I'm going to be teaching at the new centre at Spa Road.
It's a beautifully renovated Victorian civic library and is now a centre for Buddhist studies, alternative healing, yoga and meditation. We're delighted to be involved.
