Polyvagal Tuning

Content of Guided Meditation Polyvagal Tuning

Alistair leads you in a 25′ guided meditation exploring the somatic tool of the ‘polyvagal tuning’. The practice is done lying on your back, comfortably, with your hands on your belly and feet flat on the floor, knees together. [Excerpted from the Edinburgh Introduction to Embodied Meditation in February 2019]

What you’ll hear

  • Some relaxing ‘vagal breathing’
  • relaxing the whole body
  • letting go of the ‘fight response’ in the arms, shoulders, jaw
  • letting go of the ‘flight response’ in the pelvis, thighs, feet
  • unfreezing the torso
  • warming up the pro-social system
  • toning the whole body with an “A-U-M”
