Hi Alistair, I just want to thank you for your guidance regarding my invasive thoughts. They are not always critical but always noisy ! I shall be guided by your suggestion and , with a little more practice, I hope to be able welcome them in without allowing them to take centre stage so much.( I'll probably sneak back ,now and then, to the anchor and the somatic tent , my favourites)
Thoroughly enjoyed the meditation, this evening always a pleasure to practice 'live' with you.
Love and blessings Patti 🙏
Well, the truth is that you intrusive thoughts ARE conditioned by your day (but also by your body, the seasons, your history, the news cycle and the menstrual cycle - amongst a million other things). We can tie ourselves in a million knots trying to get the perfect set of conditions OR we can simply welcome in what’s there and be interested in that. As Pema Chödron says: start where you are.
Here's my answer to Patti's question.
If you have any questions about practice, Buddhism, anxiety or therapy then please post it in the forun and I'll film an answer!
Thanks Patti! I’m confident they will fade with time. Reggie Ray says they become like a radio left on in a distant room. But I’m going to film an answer for you!
