- Life Skillsi Sharing Space·12 May 2024Life Skills Let’s give our next generation the Life skills we need that we don’t learn at school. The difference between an Opinion and Fact. The emotions we feel and how you control and understand them. Relationships and how to maintain good ones. Self-belief and building resilience. Acceptance of what is - but not seeing it as a block to what it can be. Allowing grief to follow its natural journey whatever the type of loss. Following your passions in the path of your career in life not the route others think you should follow. Always have ambition to do well in Life but not rebuffing ourselves if we don’t reach our goals And finally, most importantly, learn and experience the benefit of immersing yourself in Nature. Away from electronic equipment. Be it by the sea, in the forest, by a river, or up a mountain. As the old saying goes - this is not a rehearsal-Live your life to the full. Respect others -and live in harmony with one another Angela Winbolt4336

- Please pray for my husband Simoni Sharing Space4 May 2024Unbelievably sad day. My husband passed away this morning. I took our dog Bear to see him last night. Despite being very scared of the hospital, lifts and the room he then settled and nuzzled Daddy’s hands a couple of times. Hubby was heavily sedated but hopefully felt Bear’s presence. Please hug your loved ones.26
- Overcoming Griefphobiai Alistair Clips·1 May 2024I wasn't able to record our session which I led from a service station on the A12 near Colchester last night. But we did have a good discussion about grief prompted by a question from Margaret. I re-recorded an audio version of my answer below: https://share.descript.com/view/LJeRsVFOlgo5254
- Vipashyna makes us look at misperception and how misperceptions cause suffering.i Alistair Clips·25 April 2024This is an excerpt from our Thursday teaching, emphasising the Buddhist emphasis on recognising how we fundamentally misperceive reality. First, we only partially perceive and then we hazily generalise by conceptualizing. https://share.descript.com/view/Za1S2xSEBL275215
- Overcoming Griefphobiai Alistair Clips1 May 2024Thank you Margaret for the question and Alistair for recording you answer again. When you least expect it there are moments of magic and understanding, even from a service station ha ha!41
- Vipashyna makes us look at misperception and how misperceptions cause suffering.i Alistair Clips26 April 2024And that is why one of your countrymen, William Blake, said “If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, Infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro' narrow chinks of his cavern.” We perceive through our biocomputer, which is different from the biocomputer of other beings, and to complicate things more, the software of our mind is molded by our culture, by the time we are living, by our very own DNA! That is why it is so important to go back, and back and back till the source of all perception recognizes itself. Since you mentioned the Vedanta parallels and Ramana Maharshi, let me recommend to all this extraordinary Advaita Vedanta teacher, which during this meditation mentions an analogy similar to the one of the banana, but using a flower. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3vddQwxA48 Please take the time to watch it, it is worth it. I send my best to all.31
